A new beginning
The beginning of my adventure

I did it, today marks the beginning of the most important journey of my life. I’m writing these lines while flying to Tokyo, still not fully believing it. Leaving everything behind to follow this big dream of traveling the world wasn’t easy at all. Even though excitement is with me, I’m also carrying a quiet sense of nostalgia.
The hardest part of this decision was saying goodbye to my family and friends. Looking them in the eyes one last time and saying farewell without knowing when we’ll see each other again was, without a doubt, the most painful part.
While riding the bus to Mexico City, I felt a knot in my throat. I knew it would be a long time before seeing them again, and that sadness stayed with me throughout the entire journey. Still, I didn’t stop. This dream is a core part of who I am, and I couldn’t let it go.
I’m deeply grateful to the people who have supported me along the way: my friends, my family, and especially my mother. She has always encouraged me to follow what I love, even when fear was present. She never tried to limit me, not even when she knew this path came with risks. Her support has been one of the strongest driving forces in my life.
A big part of who I am today is because of her.
Now, as I fly toward Japan, it’s impossible not to cry tears of happiness. I don’t know what awaits me in this new chapter, but I’m certain that whatever comes will be better than staying stuck in my comfort zone.
Do what you love. No matter how many obstacles you face along the way, don’t give up. Don’t limit yourself with “I can’t.” As my mother always says: “Find the how.”

Always follow your dreams, my son. You are an incredible human being, and “no” does not exist when it comes to achieving your dreams. Life has given you a great gift, the strength to move forward and overcome every obstacle that comes your way. And remember, if you ever feel sad, just know that I’m always thinking of you and praying to God and to your grandfather, who from above watches over you and guides you.
I love you, my son, and I am so proud of you and of the man you have become. I love you, and you know that I will always be here for you and your siblings. You are the greatest gift life has ever given me.
